Can postive test be false positive

On my second round of amoxicillin for lymes.  I felt better before I started taking the antibiotic.  Had no symptoms of ymes but had a bullseye.  First 2 tests came back negative - 3rd and 4th came back positive.  During the time I was on first round of amoxicillin I had dizzy spell - in ER - had CT Scan of head, X-ray of chest, blood work, urine test, cardiogram - all ok.  Just had MRA and MRI of brain and CA synogram.  I came off antibiotic twice and felt better.  Do I really need all these antibiotics in my body?  So far I've taken 6 weeks and am now into my 2nd round of 30 days - 2-500 mg twice daily.  Help

The ear issue can be part of the lyme infection.  So can the shaking and off-balance feeling.

Yes - doubled up on the 2nd round of antibiotics.  I'll be finished in 7 days.

Your reaction maybe a "herx" caused by dying off of the spirochette. Was your antibiotic dose increased with the second round?

I had no symptoms just the bullseye.  The dizziness and vertigo was due to an ear infection and that came while I was on my first round of antibiotics.  Had audiogram and other tests. Now I'm on my 2nd round of antibiotics and I'm a bit off-balance and wake up shaking.  I had no symptoms of anything until I started on antibiotics.  I know that antibiotics can do a job on one's system so I'm taking a probiotic every day.  I have appt with Neurologist in a couple of weeks.

It is very hard to get a positive lyme test even if you have it.  You sound textbook to me.  It doesn't usually show up on testing right away(if ever).  It takes a few weeks for antibodies to form.  A feel a false positive is unlikely.  A false negative on the other hand, very likely and this is what most people seem to experience.
