Thank you! Went to see LLMD

It's been a long time since I posted. I had to take care of my husband since his surgery, but I want to let you know that I don't I would have ever seen an LLMD or gotten any of the proper help if it wasn't for this board. Thank you Thank you!

I am getting tested by Igenex and I will not have my results for a month. I am also getting tested for Bartonella, Babedisis, and Erlichiosis. Has anyone here had these concurrently with Lyme disease? The LLMD said that my bullseyes rash is a diagnosis within itself and I going to start my antibiotic therapy today. Now I can get off plaquenil! He said that plaquenil has helped me for now, but in the near future I will find myself in pain again. He is also giving me more test for RA too. I am also getting tested for mercury.

I tested negative for all the co-infections and I think it's making my doc second guess my CDC positve IgM Western Blot from Igenex.  Somewhat bittersweet huh?

Well I am 33 and I was first bitten 20 years ago so I guess it 's all relative me being an "older generation" *LOL*

But yes, I am getting tested for Babesia, Bartonella, and Erlichiosis and some other Bebesia type illness. It will still be weeks before I get my results so I am on antibiotics now.

'older generations' !!  that made me chuckle - could you elaborate on this - ie; at what age this 'generation' begins !!!

Excellent news.

Ask the doc if you should treat the co-infections first and then the Lyme.

That's what I read is the proper sequence.

You're more likely to have the co-infections too if you live in certain parts of the country and it seems like Babs is more prevalent in older generations.

Good to hear from you!  I hope your husband is recuperating well.

Your new dr sounds like s/he is on the ball -- that's wonderful news.

I was diagnosed with Lyme and Babesiosis initially -- the Babesiosis was treated first, and then we started on the Lyme alone.  I don't know if that is the way all LLMDs approach things.

Please do keep us posted -- best wishes!!
