No I don't know her,but there was an article in the newspaper. I have conversed with her. She has been very helpful. I am not sure if it is the same one.
Igenex test 18 bands for lyme,in Canada I think they only do 5.
When my son worked In Alberta,he was exposed to Hintavirus. They were notified by their employer and told to go to the dr which he did. They said he was fine
Center for Disease Control. Yes, it was Vancouver and yes, she goes to Maine. Maybe you know her? I looked up tetanus and I couldn't find anything about bone degeneration, just neuromuscular issues.
Thank you for your response. What does CDC stand for? She probably went to a doctor in Vancouver. Does she travel to Maine for treatment now? I know of a girl that was positive with Igenex, neg in Canada and she did the same. I plan on sending my son's blood to Igenex.
She did have Igenex testing. Not CDC positive. She had to fly across Canada, I forget where but I believe it was an 8 hour flight to see a doctor. Now she travels to the US for treatment. She has been on antibiotics for over a year and is so much better. I'll talk to her tomorrow. Your son sounds very sick.
That is not what the lab in Halifax,NS said. She said if the vaccination was 15 years ago he would not have antibodies now. The doctors here have never seen a case of Tetanus. There is something wrong with my son .on the Bone Scan it showed degeneration in the upper and lower jaws. It is just so frustrating. He went from healthy person to some body that has been debilitated for over two and a half years
Where was your friend diagnosed? Was it diagnosed at Igenex and which doctor treated her?
Thanks
I really doubt that he has tetanus. I would have to believe most standard labs could test for tetanus. Even though the vaccine was 15 years ago he could still have antibodies. Have you googled for labs who ran tetanus antibody titers? BTW, I have a friend in NB, Canada who has lyme.
I got the Lyme test back today . It was negative. I am still getting blood work done in CA IGenex for Lyme. Do you know if they do testing also for Tetanus or a lab in the US. that does testing for Tetanus. THE G.P. today called the infection control doctor and he said the Tetanus level was normal. How was it normal when his last Tetanus injection was about 15 years ago?
Wow! He's the first person I have ever heard of with actual tetanus. No, I don't know of a lab for this. I would get the test done at the CA lab. I presume it is IGENEX??
This is my son who is 29. He was working in Alberta,Canada when he started with a face rash and jaw pain.HE has electric shock pain going through his whole body.He had severe muscle twitching, especially of the face He has been sick for 2.5 years. He can not work because of the pain and has become almost debilitated. He saw one infection control dr and he said if it was Tetanus it would eventually wear itself out of the body. Can you imagine? His Tetanus antibody IgG 2.430 IU/ml and the comment reads :Antibody to Tetanus present above the protective level. The lab said they don't do IgM. They did Lyme testing last week,no report yet.Frustrated in N.B. Canada. DO you know if there is a lab somewhere one can send your blood to be checked for Tetanus? If his Lyme testing is neg here,I am sending his blood to CA to be checked for Lyme. Thank you
Tetanus is a very serious and often life-threatening illness. It is extremely rare. It would be very unlikely to have this. What are your symptoms?
