Menopause is just a word. Get a different doctor and don't tell him/her what you think it might be, just stick to describing the symptoms you are having. I can't believe that a good doctor wouldn't do a simple blood test for you to check your hormone levels as well as a thorough GYN exam. Find a doctor that will listen to you. You can always look to alternative care such as homeopathy and/or acupuncture. Even then, I would use the traditional Drs to do the tests first.
27 is a little young for perimenopause, but, I guess it is possible, normally, it can start around the age of 35 though. That being said, I would say your hormones are not balanced, and you need to get that issue straightened out first; the doc should have you do a saliva hormone test, this is much more accurate than the blood, the blood is only a "snapshot" of what is going on for that second, the saliva is done throughout the day and it can tell what the levels are during those times, it is very accurate. A good, naturopath or even an MD that specializes in alternative healing can prescribe this for you. Unless the gyn is nutrionally knowledgable, you will get more drugs and probably feel even worse, they prescribe synthetic hormones and they are NOT safe, nor, do they work.
Another thing I would do is get on a good, bio-identical progesterone cream. This will surely help regulate those hormones and you should start feeling better in no time. A good, health food store carries them, or, a doc can write a prescription for them to be filed at a compounding pharmacy, I use those, I am very happy with them. It is very safe as well, and any age can use it.
Hope this is of some help.
