Started hot flushes

Hi I am 42 had cancer when I was 38 after treatment got menopause symptoms for 8 months then got my period back. I have now missed a period and started getting hot flushes and sweats. I plan on going to my doctor to get a blood test done to see if it is a hormone problem and if this is the start of the end of my period. When I had the 8 months of menopause symptoms I started taking a dissolvable cube called a trost ( not spelt right) which dissolved into the gum. It totally stopped the aches and pains and hot flushes. The best thing I ever did. So if this is the start of peri menopause / menopause should I get back onto the medication or do you wait until you have not had a period for a year? I too get a lot of tingling in my feet, legs, hands and arms. So glad to have other ladies to talk too.

Ok so I got my blood test results and my FSH is 45, my LH is 21 and the oestradiol is 64. The doctor has recommended I go on a light dosage of the pill. He says I am in the peri menopause stage. Any thoughts on these results and is it the right thing to do go on the pill?

Hi Thanks for your comment. I went to doctor yesterday and got blood taken to check my thyroid and hormone levels to see what is going on. Why is the Trost no good?

HI,
This can be peri-menopause and you do need to check for the hormones by doing a hormonal panel. If the symptoms are due to depletion of hormones, then you will need HRT or hormone replacement therapy. However this is not safe in women with history of cancer. Hence you need to consult your Doctor. Also you need to consult your Doctor regarding use of trost. Another alternative is bio-medical hormones. Hope this helps.
