2 testes, but 1 shows.

Hi everyone, i am glad to join this forum and hope to get the answers ive been wondering about for years.

im currently 21 years old, and i got a problem with my testes, my right teste is just fine but the left one is not in the same place as the right one.

to make it more clear it shows that i got 1 teste, the left one is just inside its like the vains are to short. ( i hope i made my self clear)

MY guessing is that i might have vains wrapped into each other or something which is blocking my left teste to be down where its suppose to be, it never hurts and never had a problem.

but im really worried about later on when i get married.

what could the symptoms be?
is this normal?
is it a rare thing to guys that it happens ?
will it affect my sperms?
what should i do?

you're welcome man i know if you play certain sports its actually hard to get these kinds of things to stop you from what you like doing...as for the surgery for ascended testicle its very easy and is done as "day surgery" meaning you go to the hospital in the morning and come back home at night or you might spend one night at the hospital depending on your recovery time, i had mine done 18 years ago in Lebanon (overseas) during a war when all the good doctors were gone! when i was six years old and i spent two days in the hospital because i had issues with my tonsils...so you can imagine nowadays with advanced surgery procedures like laparoscopic surgery and all that good stuff it does not hurt, you won't feel a thing and there won't be any scars....trust me go see a doctor as soon as possible, they will be able to answer all your questions, and like i said before be wary of hernia's developing later on in life because i'm 24 now and i just developed a hernia 18 years after my surgery working out doing sit ups and playing soccer....if you said you urinate alot, i do too because i drink a lot of water, which is a good thing, but like i said, never ever hold it in while you weight lift and play a sport because it will develop into some form of hernia....anyway i don't want to take too long, don't wait on it any longer man....good luck, i'm glad i could help, and remember ask for laparoscopic surgery....

you have helped me in a way that i cant stop saying thank you nor how to thank you, you have just answered the everything i needed to know that ive been wondering for years.

Yes, i do play sports..im into body building still a begginer but yeah..true when i do setups i can fel my vains and sometimes it hurts.. i try to avoid set ups to be honest im always scared.

I will try to go to a urologist as soon as possible, you have opened my eyes on reality that i need an operation !!

money is not an issue due for havign a full medication insurance so im safe :D.

and im right foot guy, and i urinate so much.

so i should be long in the hospital after the surgery?
how long will i have to quit weight lifting?
did it hurt when you did the surgery?
what kind of pain should i be expecting after the surgery?

The reason i ask if you play a sport is that i've been reading up on this condition since i suffered from it, and it seems that sports (mostly soccer) and heavy exercise especially sit ups affect it the most, right footed people tend to have issues in the right testicle, and left footed people tend to have issues with the left testicle, another thing i noticed is that if you have to urinate real bad and you hold it during a sport will certainly lead to this or an Inguinal Hernia in the long run....

You've come to the right place at the right time, i was just discussing something similar with another person on this forum...its a congenital defect which happens to a lot of guys, not necessarily right after birth, sometimes it shows up later in life, in my case when i was six years old.....so don't feel bad its not what you call normal but its common, if there's severe pain then it might be testicular torsion (testicle cord actually wraps around its self and restricts flow and twists the testicle or brings it closer to the body, happens alot to guys who wear boxers and run around alot). its serious and should be addressed right away if its causing severe pain, swelling, nausea, vomiting and all that good stuff ....but in your case it sounds like ascended testicle (also called undescended testicle if the testicle never descended after birth) now while this does not cause a lot of pain (sometimes) it also needs to be addressed as soon as possible because the testicles need to roam free close and away from the body to keep at the right temperature...thats why your testicles get close to your body during the cold and away during warm weather....to keep at a right temperatue, now if it stays close or inside your body, its temperature is not always within "operating temperature : )" and i don't want to scare you but in the long run it will develop many complications and you might even lose it!....bad news is it will not fix itself so surgery is needed almost all the time, good news is; the surgery is performed as an outpatient procedure without hospital stay depending on recovery time and its sorta cheap depending on what you would call cheap, i had mine done overseas 18 years ago and i stayed in the hospital for two days because i had a tonsil infection (unrelated to the surgery) all for around $1200, nowadays a good urologist with laparoscopic surgery will get it done as an outpatient procedure and you'll be good to go work the same week and play sports within a month....

Things to keep in mind:

1- Go for a good urologist and surgeon using laparoscopic surgery which provides faster wound recovery and leaves no scars, as opposed to regular surgery which takes longer to heal the wound, and leaves a 2-3 inch c-section like scar in your groin area.
2- If money is an issue, get it done at an outside surgery facility not in a hospital, its cheaper, and has a lesser chance of infection... some hernia centers/ OBGYNs/Urologists and such have their own surgery facilities. That goes for anyone who needs any kind of surgery and is a little short on money a lot of people don't know this...trust me i work in the administrative part of a hospital (no medical experience) the difference in the price is HUGE!
3- If you play sports especially soccer,  or american football, work out and do a lot of sit ups, be wary of hernia developing later on in life because the muscle in the groin area tends to be weak for people with this condition. Always warm up before sports, and always, ALWAYS take a pre-game ****/dump.
4-Good luck and hope this helped....
BTW, do you play sports, if so what sport and are you left/right footed?
