Canesten cream side effects?

So i came home from a week long hike trip having developed jock itch, it didn't go away so i went to the pharmacy and the lady in the counter said i should buy some canesten 1% cream. Its been a week now and the Jock itch is nearly gone but i have developed a stabbing like sensation near the area where i Apply it, the area in question being the "seam" where my Testicles are attatched to the body this somewhat worry me, now it said in the manual that 1 in a 1000 may develope less common side effects (stabbing sensation being one of them) but should i run of to the doctor? There are no physical signs so should i wait a few days?
