Hernia affected

I have consulted my doctor 1 month before due to the severe pain and pressure on the right side of my waistline above my groin and he said me it is because of hernia and suggested me to consult a specialist at Shouldice Hospital, Ontario. As it was my wife's delivery time, I was not able to do it then and thinking to go there next week. What are your suggestions?
