Prostate Cancer

My PSA went from 4.79 to 2.76 in 4 months. Urologist says I have enlarged prostate at 77 years of age. Should I get a prostate biopsy!
Thank you.

It's really important to work with your doctor. I know you are in mid 70's and prostate biopsies are less routine at this point in one's age cycle. They will recommend them only under specific situations and your doctor would do that. The change in your numbers looks like you had a decrease. That can happen with changes in diet, exercise, various other lifestyle changes. Numbers above 4 are considered abnormal. Your reading in the 2.0's would be normal but ask your doctor about the change.

Here is a link about enlarged prostate since you say your doctor says this is what is going on. See if any symptoms match. https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/benign-prostatic-hyperplasia/symptoms-causes/syc-20370087

Here's some info.  It talks about age ranges and numbers, and also about various screening tests.

Does your doctor suggest a biopsy?
