I have swollen and very sensisitive testicles with shooting pain.

Hi, as the title says, last week (10th February)  I had swollen, very sensitive testicles with shooting pains. Which gradually got worse, but after a week has eased off to the point it virtually no longer hurts. I went to my doctors and they checked my testicles, booked me in for a scan and did urine samples. The check was fine, and the first urine sample was clear. I haven't had my scan yet and the std urine test hasn't come back yet. I'm just curious to what it could be? I've been googling (bad idea I know) and it keeps coming back to an std. I had unprotected oral sex 3-4 months ago with a random girl and no sexual activity since. I have had no other symptoms like pain urinating or pain ejaculating. There's been no discharge. Could it really be an std after so long with just those symptoms? Or is it something else? Any help is appreciated, i know the samples will tell if I have an std or not, but I wanted to know how likely that's the cause, as I don't want it to be an std due to the small village I live in.
