sore penis

I am a healthy 56 year old male. I exercise regularly! For the paist two months, I have a sore penis when erect. I am only sore when I am having sex.  My doctor has diagnosed me as having a penile yeast infection. My wife is a yeast carrier as well.  He  prescribed MONISTAT pill on two occasions these past two months.  I still have the soreness during erections. I have no lesions or discharge.  I also take Neurontin for a condition in my feet. I have read it has an effect on men and their erections and sex life. It is supposed to be a positive effect! I just don't know what to do. I can't afford another doctor's visit at this time. I would welcome any professional advice or advice period! Thank you!!!

Thank you Dr. Sharma!  I have no problems with Neurontin. In Fact, It has had a very positive effect on my erections over the past two years. I have read testimonials online from other men, who say this drug has done wonders for their sex lives. It gives my very hard erections. One thing that I discussed with my doctor was, that I get so hard that this is when my erections are sore during sex. I can't take Lyrica for the condition in my feet, so Neurontin is the only drug that works for me. I have gone to a specialist and he prescribed it for me two years ago. As I said earlier, I have had yeast surroudning my penis for years now. The doctor has ask me to use lamisil creme in that area for many years now. I am fine as long as I use the cream. however, I discontinue the cream for two days, I break out very badly!!! I have gone to my doctor twice in the last couple of months and he gives me a pill to take by mouth for the penile yeast infection. I just can't seem to get over it. It always shows up in my urine that I have yeast.  I just don't like being sore in that area everytime I have sex with my wife. I would welcome your imput into this situation. My doctor seems not to be concerned at all. He just says that yeast is very hard to control. Can too hard of erections cause you penis to be sore. I didn't have these kind of erections in my 20s. THank you!!!

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
A clinical examination is important for correct diagnosis and management.Neurontin can cause changes in sex drive, problems with ejaculation, problems with orgasm and  impotence etc. These effects are drug dependent and decrease and disappear once the drug is stopped. A process of erection involves your brain, nerves, hormones, and blood vessels. Anything that interferes with these can lead to problems getting an erection.. If the problem is severe it is best to contact a counselor or a doctor. Keep me posted.
Best luck and regards!
