I too have a kidney cyst, but I do not know what size it is.
I find that it does play up from time to time and I feel pain and discomfort.
It too is my left kidney and that is the side that I had to have a kidney stone removed many years ago when it got stuck in the ureter.
When I get the flare ups I drink more fluids. When an infection is also detected then an antibiotic is prescribed. This gets rid of any bacterial infection, but does not stop the discomfort in the kidney area and I will still detect blood on the urine reagent strips which is not visible to the eye.
Take care
Best wishes.
Hello there,
Treatment is not needed for simple kidney cysts and then should be monitored with periodic ultrasounds. Usually, the cysts don't cause any problems. In fact, people can go through life without even knowing that they have them. Up to 50 percent of people older than 50 years of age have kidney cysts.
Symptomatic kidney cysts can be treated by sclerotherapy. If the cyst is large, surgery may be needed. Simple kidney cysts usually do not affect kidney function, but if it is causing symptoms or blocking the flow of blood or urine through the kidney it may need to be treated and can affect your kidney function tests .It is best to discuss your concerns with your attending doctor. I hope it helps. Keep me posted.
Best wishes and regards!
