Having seen an ENT, allergist, ophthalmologist, and a neurologist that I'm seeing for sleep apnea, many diagnosis (blocked tear duct, allergies, sinus infections, etc...) have been ruled out and all doctors have mention that my symptoms seem to be neurological. Cluster headache has been mentioned a lot. However my symptoms don't quite fit. My pain isn't continuous and not sharp-like. My symptom are as followed: sometimes after completing a run outdoors, within a half hour of stopping I begin to get a mild to moderate pain on one of my nose on the nasolabial fold. This pain sometimes throbs and seems to cause me to sneeze a lot. Rhinorrhea (runny nose) then sets in. Then a continuous eye pain on the same side as the nose pain starts along with watery eyes and sometimes lacrimation. The symptoms peek very quickly. Each time I set this off it varies in severity and duration (1 to 10 days) with each passing day bringing some relief. These episodes can occur on either side of the face, but always seem to start with the nose pain. It seem to be an uncontrolled triggered event.
Recently, I have tried gabapentin without success. I just filled a prescription for indocin and have yet to try it.
I have looked at the IHS-ICHD-2 website (http://ihs-classification.org/en/) and can't find anything that fits entirely. My next step to to go to a headache center, but any help would be welcomed.
