Hi,
Tension-Type Headaches usually present with dull, non-throbbing pain, frequently bilateral. It is associated with tightness of scalp or neck and the degree of severity remains constant. You may benefit from rest ice packs, analgesics or muscle relaxants. If necessary, temporary use of stronger prescription analgesics and avoidance of stress may also help. Take care and best regards.
Hi,
How are you? Pain at the back of head or neck that intensifies on movement may be caused by inflammation of the blood vessels of the head or bony changes in the structures of the neck. The cause of pain is not known. But anti-inflammatory drugs or muscle relaxants may help. If it persists, you may need to have this checked by your doctor for proper management. Take care and do keep us posted.
I am 50 years old and have had similiar "stabbing headaches" that come and go intermittenly through out the day. I read recently it might have to do with "ear muscle tension" or tension in general. I noticed a very minor discomfort in my right ear a couple days before these attacks started. Not sure but I also notice a tender area on my head right above my right ear where the "stabbing aches" seems to be located. does not seem to bother me at night just when I am out and about. let me know igf you find anything that might help alleviate this pain.
