27 yr old Daughter has all symptoms of clusters.  Dr says prolly not Clusters bc rare and occur mostly in males.  Had for 2 months.  Keeps throwing preventative meds at her.  Cannot tolerate side effects. Sumatriptan injection quickly aborts but only allotted so much per month.  Almost out of injections and has no pain relief.  Neuro dropped her as patient and advised to find another neuro.  He states cant do any thing more fr her.  Been to ER.  No help.  Referred to neuro.  Can't get in for 3 weeks. They feel no urgency.   Also dr adv her she as penial cyst but not the reason for the pain....he states has had cyst since birth??  Cannot function.  Blurred vision, loss of concentration, confusion, totally dysfunctional.  Has constant "shadow headache" 24/7.  Goes to Bed as soon as gets home from work bc she cant tolerate it and takes meds to help sleep.  
Any known clinics drs etc that specialize in clusters that provide immediate care?

Try Flonase every night before bed and take Claritin or Allegra in morning everyday. It worked for me if I go a day without it I get pain. I don't get headaches anymore.

How is your daughter? What were the initial diagnostic tests done? Seeking another neurologist's opinion  and asking for referrals to local headache centers that focus on cluster headaches may indeed be helpful. Cluster headache usually responds to similar migraine preventative drugs and can often be brought under better control temporarily by steroids or nerve blocks. Many patients also respond to inhaled 100 percent oxygen while others benefit from topical anesthetic applied inside the nose, injected or nasal triptans. If the present medications are not helping, she can also try complementary and alternative medicine such as biofeedback therapy or acupuncture to help provide relief. Take care and do keep us posted.
