Constand headache for 12 years

Hi I am 33 yo male and have had a constant headache for 12 years. It is hard to describe it is not painfull however I am always aware of it it is a dull pain on the left side of my skul above my ear, think it is called my temple. It is like there is something there putting pressure on my brain.
I have tried to explain to my gps they have not given me anything for it the last responce I got was it cant be anything serious as you would not be hear any more after 12 years if it was then he said some people just get headaches nothing much can be gone.
I used to be a very confident person but now I feel like I am living a lie as I have not told anyone about my problem I just suffer in silence.
If I could find a way to get rid of it and be myself I would be the happiest man alive.
The time it happended was after a New Years Eve bash, I had taken quite a lot of recreation drugs and was having a good time then when I was back at someones house I began to feel really weird and got worse on the train jorney home I stayed in bed for all of the following day and thought I would sleep it of not knowing that it would last 12 years.
I had been using recreation drugs at weekends for about a year and had never had a problem before.
I have not taken any drugs at all for about 11 years now, I live a very healty lifestyle, excersise regually and have a healthy diet.
My bite does not line up very well but surely that can not be the problem, any suggestions greatfully received I will try anything.
Thanks

Hi,

Invisalign treatment will consist of series of teeth aligners that need to be changed every two weeks. It is custom made of every individual set of teeth. It will help in aligning your teeth and hopefully will relieve your symptoms also. Good luck and keep us posted!

Thank you, I have read this previously on the internet. I am getting something called invisalign within the next two week. I assume this would have the same effect as a mouth guard as it is a plastic brace that goes over the teeth. Here is hoping and thanks for your prompt response.

Hi,

Thanks for writing in.
Your symptoms are most likely due to TMJ. TMJ or temporomandibular disorder is usually seen in people who are in the habit of clenching their teeth or chewing gum. The classical symptoms are pain in the temple region and malocclusion of teeth.
I would suggest you to consult a dentist as soon as possible. In the meantime you can try using a mouth guard and see if it helps!
