Not sure what to ask...

I have had a headache for over 2 weeks now and it is getting worse and worse. It is accompanied by dizziness, nausea and a sense of "spinning" when I lay down or turn my head. For the last year I have had these blackouts and now I am starting to realize I have substantial memory loss during times when I didnt think I had a blackout. IE cannot find my car, losing things in the house, forgetting movies and shows I just watched, the day of the week, etc. Also, for the last week I have had numbness and tingling in my left arm. (I am left handed, if that matters) I saw my DR and he prescribed tension headache medicine, muscle relaxors and something for the nausea. Its not working. He also ordered a CAT scan and a neurology apt. When I called to schedule, they told me it was 6 weeks for an apt. I feel like my symptoms cannot wait that long. What do I ask my doctor? He seems concerned but doesnt seem to know much. Any suggestions will help, thank you.

I am 26 F and I am not obease at all, no high colesterol but I smoked in the past, 2-4 cigarettes a day. I have my CT scan for Friday. I just hpe they can read it w/o a neurological doc there. I really want the neurologist to see me, but I guess unless I have t go to ER that will have to wait. Wouldn't I know if I had a stroke? This has all been gradual, and it often lessens before coming back. Thanks for the advice.

Hi,
How are you?
The symptoms of dizziness, headache, progressive memory loss and tingling numbness on one side of the body can be the symptoms of stroke.
How old are you?
Do you have any risk factor for stroke like high BP, obesity, high cholesterol and smoking etc?
There are other possibilities also like MS. However nothing can be said for sure without a neurological exam.
I would suggest you to push for a CT scan earlier than 6 weeks. Do keep us posted!
