Please I need some help and relief!

Hi my name is sara.  I am 24 years old. I had my first child nine months ago.  I have always had really bad headaches but nothing like Im experiencing now.  THey use to just be once in a while.  Now I have a headache several times a day..or just all throughout my day.  Im MISERABLE. Since my daughter was born they have gotten progressively worse.  After I wake up in the morning I usually go until lunch time and it starts to set in.  I now require excedrine migraine on a daily basis.  If I take anything else it progresses to a full blown migraine where i cant keep my eyes open and sometimes start to vomit.  I know that taking this medicine everyday cant be good for me either but if I dont i literally cant function! I need my life back!  This is also accompanied by severe upper back pain almost nightly.  Usually my upper back starts up pretty loose but by the end of the night it can get so bad that again it can lead to me vomitting.  I have seen my primary care physician...and he sent me to a specialist and they found that i had a ruptured disc in my lumbar region of my back but he said that would not be whats causing the upper back pain and migraines.  So still no help for that.  The pain in my upper back is in between my shoulder blade area. my husband, bless his heart, works to massage it out and has to rub as hard as he can and that can keep me from getting sick that night sometimes.  Does anyone have any clue what is going on here?  Again all this has progressed since I gave birth this past may. Please if anyone knows anything please please help me! I need relief so badly...or guidance to get relief or ask the right questions.  I cant keep wasting money on random doctors.

headaches can be caused an epidural or spinal.  After I had my 2nd daughter I had SEVERE migraines for months afterwards & was told it was a risk with the epidural.  Migraines respond well to ice packs on the back of ur neck (usually around the base of your skull), COMPLETE darkness & complete quiet, migraine meds or Tylenol migraine,  put ur feet up & keep all strong smells away.

I've suffered from migraines most of my life, but the ones I had after delivery were the worst that I had ever felt.

As for the upper back pain I would imagine it could be caused by the csection as well.  I've delivered ALL of my kids vaginally so not sure what a csection would or would not do but I would imagine it could cause some back pain.

Hope this has helped a little bit at least

thank u so much for taking your time to respond to me :) I had an emergency c section. she had been loosing weight in the womb and the cord was wrapped around her kneck.  The specialist I saw did a MRI and they found the ruptured disc in the lumbar region of my back, but he said that had nothing to do with the upper back pain or headaches.  What kind of things could a neurologist do for me? I have never seen one before.  Thank you so much for your time and I hope you have a great weekend :)

Hi,
How are you? Did you have a normal delivery or anesthesia was used? I'm sorry to hear what you have been through for the last months. The headaches and migraines may be associated with hormone changes. Migraine usually respond well to rest, ice pack and prescription medications. The pain in the upper back may warrant further evaluation such as imaging studies like CT scan or MRI. You may also benefit from evaluation by a neurologist for proper diagnosis. Take care and do keep us posted.
