Your post caught my attention. I asume that you have spoke to a doctor about the dripping AND metallic taste that goes w/ it?? How long ago did you have this head trauma?
The metallic taste in your mouth could be of concern! Cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) leak may occur from the nose (rhinorrhea), from the external auditory canal (otorrhea), or from a TRAUMA or operative defect in the skull or spine. The fluid leak is a result of meningeal dural and arachnoid laceration with fistula formation. "Blunt trauma is the most common cause."
If you had this accident a couple months ago....AND you have been having these sx for a month or more (although rare), it could be a slow leak of CSF. I am in NO WAY saying that is what it is...BUT, this needs to be addressed "immediately" by a Neurologist! Not by a GP who may think it's just allergies.
Are you having any other sx such as dizziness, headache?

Hi,
How are you? Do you have a history of allergies? Tonya has a good point, have this checked by a neurologist to rule out any underlying problem. Nasal discharge caused by the common colds or a virus infection usually resolves after a few days. Migraine headache responds well to rest, ice packs, avoidance of the trigger and prescription medications. Over-the-counter medicines may indeed cause rebound headaches. Take care and do keep us posted.
