Topamax for migranes

Topamax,there was aconversation about it, that hair loss is a side effect is topamax doing this are the cause is taking other meds with topamax can cause this?

Hi,
I agree with selma that the presence of medicine side effect varies from one person to another. And hair loss can also be a symptom of many other conditions that may be present in the medical history of a patient. Aside from thyroid issues, the presence of stress alone, or other conditions can lead to hair loss. Known as Telogen Effluvium, this is temporary and the hair soon recovers.In some cases, there is a need to treat the underlying cause for resolution of the hair loss. Take care always.

It could be those that had a hair loss issue also had a thyroid issue and assumed it was the topamax......????

I don't have any problem ,but  there are a few issue with some other people i know who take it ,and they have hair loss, I'm fine not lossing any hair, I sak my doctor he said no hair should happen with topamax..

  I am on TOPAMAX and do not have an issue with hair loss....not everyone will have  a side effect from the meds...and sometimes there can be an interaction if u r on another med...check with ur dr or pharmacist to be sure and always report all side effects asap .
