posting for my wife

my wife was suffering with migraines for several years, but as of late she went thru a spell where she would [for lack of a better word ] blank out and her eyes would glaze over and she would be gone for several minutes completly nonresponsive. we spent night in hospital under dr care, mri's are clear , eeg's clear. xrays of upper back and chest are clear,  but the episodes are still continuing. there is also some upper back aches between the shoulder blades. when they hit but before she blanks out she says she feels like she is going to pass out or is going to be sick. the dr's call them complicated migrains. anyone with anything will be greatly appreciated

Hi,
How is your wife? It is good that the MRI, EEG and x-rays are clear. Complicated migraines are rare and are usually accompanied by a neurological deficit.  It sometimes features an aura that lasts for hours or days, as opposed to the half hour or hour which is the usual.  Example is the whOphthalmoplegic migraine which presents with some paralysis of the nerves required for eye movement. Further evaluation is needed to determine the type. A visit to a neurologist is also highly recommended.

Take care and do keep us posted.

sounds to me like it might be ab absence seizure, but that's a purely unprofessional diagnosis. I have a friend who gets them and gets like that. That's why I thought of it. Is your wife seeing a neurologist?
