Miscarriage?

I went in to the doctors to hear my baby's heartbeat when I was 11 weeks pregnant and they didn't hear anything. Is this a sign of a miscarriage or was it maybe just too soon to tell? This is my first pregnancy.

I'll bet it was a relief to get that nagging worry off your mind.  Congrats to you again.

Thanks to everyone that replied. I had a doctors appointment today and we heard the baby's heartbeat. It is healthy. I'm so thankful.

The little handheld dopplers are hard to get a heartbeat with as early as 11 weeks.  I used one when pregnant and was lucky to find it regularly at 12 weeks.

I'm sorry but it sounds like miscarriage, idk why they wouldn't explain this to you. My baby stopped developing at 8+6 but I didn't find out til 11+3 when there was no heartbeat. Stay prayerful hopefully it will be different for you.

They used a doppler. I haven't had any ultrasounds yet.

What were they using to try to hear it, a hand-held wand?  It's possible not to be able to find the heartbeat that early with one of those.
