Y is'nt the misoprostol working?

Hi all i'm really hoping someone can help here. My bay's heart stopped almost 2wks ago and have not passed naturally. So dr gave me 600mg of misoprostol to take orally and nothing happened told me to take 600 more mg 12hrs later and still nothing waited 24hrs and dr said to try to take 600mg vaginally so i did and still nothing I woke up with some light bleeding then passed a very small clot and bleeding gone I know i have not passed everything inc. the fetus. Y is it not working for me i have one more dose i can take tonight but if it does'nt work then I have to get a dnc which i don't want. Any advice??

So sorry for your loss. I was given misoprostol for a missed miscarriage as well. It seemed to "work" but 3 weeks later I was still spotting. An ultrasound revealed that I had retained "products of conception" and ended up having a d&c. I wish I had the d&c in the first place but that's a personal decision. Good Luck.

Sometimes, it just doesn't.  Especially if this is not your first child, the uterus likes to hold on a bit more.  I hope the final dose does the trick.
