Abdominal Reflex missing + Whole body Internal Shaking

Dear all, Im in the middle of being diagnosed. Ive had white spots on brain MRI. I have just some clinical symptoms (Mainly stiffness in legs and hands) My neuro said, all reflexes were normal, except Abdominal Reflex missing on the right side. Is it something consistent with early MS? (Im scared of ALS to be Honest). Also since 4 days Im experiencing the worst symptom of my life - my whole body is vibrating inside / buzzing, especially if I relax or lay down to bed to sleep. Did anyone experience such stuff? (really from had to toes)

The only thing I think when hearing buzzing might be like the sensation I get when I have restless leg.

Internally my leg feels like I can feel the blood moving in my veins. Very weird but that is the only Thing I can think of.

My father has restless leg as well and no ms. Hope you figure it out,

Barb

Hi there,

An absent unilateral abdominal response 'could be' clinically suggestive of a neurological condition like MS BUT if that is the 'only' finding in your neurological assessment, an absent unilateral abdominal reflex alone would not be clinically suggestive of anything really. If you had any of the other reflex signs associated with dysfunction of the nervous system eg Babinski etc etc  your abdominal reflex may of been relevant, but with nothing else, it may not actually mean anything.....

To be honest, i'm not exactly sure what you mean by "my whole body is vibrating inside / buzzing, especially if I relax or lay down to bed to sleep" it doesn't sound right to me, for a condition like MS to be the 'most likely' cause.

Keep in mind that there are probably 100's of things that can cause a vibration sensation all over body, but the description of vibrating or buzzing in relation to a neurological condition like MS, would often be how pwMS describe a rapid muscle spasm or tremor, though it's typically in isolated locations in the body and not the whole body.

IF you're saying this sensation is happening in the whole of your body, AND
it is only a sensation you perceive because there is no visible tremor or physical vibration felt by others AND it's worse or more noticeable when you relax or lay down, from my understanding this sensation would be more 'suggestive' of other causations eg viral, alcohol, medication, vit deficiency's, anxiety etc etc  than a neurological one.

Cheers............JJ
