Am Wondering What Is Happening With My Right Eye..

Hi to all.

Was wondering if anyone could shed any light to what is happening with my right eye.

Last Thursday night I started to have pain in my right eye, especially under my top lid, it felt like some one was having a good poke. This subside about a hour later & just put it down to maybe being tired, or maybe because the back of my head/neck/arm was throbbing.

Anyway in the morning (Friday) not long after I woke up, the pain started again & I noticed my eye was slightly blood shot. Through out the day my eye became worse with blood shots & the pain would come in waves, some being really painful. I noticed that when I went outside or into a bright room, this would really hurt my eye. Later on at night, my eye became so painful & even started to sting really bad, which caused my eye to water, again this came in waves, even a slight breeze would hurt my eye. It really felt someone was poking so hard at my eye & even when I touched my eye when closed, this hurt.

Well this is the strange part, on Saturday morning the pain was not as bad, but I did notice my eye sight in that eye went slightly hazy. As the day went by my pain & blood shots were becoming so much better.

Sunday Morning my blood shot eye was not as noticable but since then even though the pain has 80% gone, my eye feels quite sore like I have strained it, feels quite sensative, I have noticed a numbness feeling around my eye & the back of head & neck is feeling sore with a pressure feeling.

Has anyone any ideas what this was, as I have not ever had this experience before.

Through what I had read on the replies, I think I had better get my eye checked out to be on the safe side, like you all have mention you should not mess wth your eyes.

I suppose I was a bit freaked out with how quick it happened & how my eye looked. My eye is still sensative, but I don't know if that's because I am in some sort of flare up, as my back & leg is in so much pain since yesturday & am getting really sharp shooting pains going down my right side. Had one sharp shooting pain on my right forearm that bought me to tears.

Maggs970~ How strange that it was your right eye that had played up like mine & yet it was your left eye that showed inflamation. Have they said what caused this? & what they can do for you? Hope it is better for you!!!!

hi louby i had that with my eye last month really sore pain blood shot it eventually passed over a few days i got a fright when i looked in the mirror and saw the blood it was around the colour part of eye iris i think its called, this has now completely gone although my eyes are sensative to light and draughts i went for an eye test at my local tesco as we are entitled to a free test every 2 years and had not been she told me i had inflamation behind my left eye it was my right eye that had all the pain and blood shot get it checked out pleasex

Hi Louby,

Def. get into see an eye Dr.  With that level of irritation, blood shot, etc., you may need something for it to heal.

I'm with shockedtoday, don't mess around w/your eyes or delay.

Sorry~Forgot to mention that my eye hurts when I look around & still hurts slightly when I look at bright lights but its as if the pain is coming from underneath my eyeball.

That has never happened to me before.  You don't want to mess around with your eyes, so I'd suggest seeing an eye doctor if at all possible.  I hope your eye feels better soon.
