Yay!!! I'm glad to hear that!
I am still the boss today!!! The strength is helping!!!! Hoping I hold out until Thursday when my neuro returns......hoping.....
Sumana, I am sorry you have been unwell. I am glad the steroids are kicking in, Thinking of you...
Michelle
Sumana- I am praying for you to have your strength back today also...My heart goes out to you!
((hugs)) Laural
Sending you strength and prayers; hope the papers get done soon for the new meds. You deserve it.......
Virtual strength winging its way across the pond!
Mand :)
Mand, thank you and guess what? It is night and I am back to being the boss of my legs!!!!!! I got the infusion this morning. I am only going to take the one...Hoping that the new med that Bob mentions will be quickly approved before I swell again.
Now all send strength that in the morning things will work because due to the construction of handicapped steps leading out all doors from upstairs...Ain't no way they will be able to carry me out...even by ambulance. However, I do know my husband would decide to take me down the basement steps backwards (with help of course) then out one of the lower doors. I ain't doing it...lol...No way in hell....Send strength!!!!!!!!!!!!!! lol
I'm so sorry about this Sumana, I hope that infusion gets to work real quick!
Mand
Kelly am hoping just one round..one gram will do it this time...They make me so so sick.
Bob, that is the medicine that one of my doctor's associates is putting the paperwork in for today. Luckily my home filled with nephews and brothers in law today because the concrete truck was to be here by noon..So they carried me in the wheelchair over the forms down to the driveway...a long walk in a mess of broken concrete from the old walkway. They sort of pushed me into the car..lol...and then followed us to the hospital to the infusion center...and back home. We arrived just as the concrete truck arrived and luckily a nice guy that even helped get me back inside.
Twopack ..very sweet of you to think of me and I mean that sincerely.
Sarah...the loo was the most humiliating part..having a neighbor help hold me...my husband on one side, her on the other.
Already I can move my left foot a bit. Maybe more before today or next loo visit..lol
Sumana
I cannot imagine what you must be feeling like and to be reliant on others to get you in and out of bed must be very hard. How are you managing going to the loo and are you going to need carers to help? Let's hope that this is a temporary setback and that if you get some steroids again it will give you back some mobility. I am aware that you have been on long term steroids so not sure what your position is now.
I hope that the forms that are being filled in for your upstairs doors do not sit being unattended as is so often the case when they land on someone's desk. If they do then kick ***** and chase them up. You may feel you are not the boss of your legs, but you still have your fighting spirit so just hold onto this as it will help you feel you still have control of some aspects of your life and I am sure this is important.
Sending you strength and healing

I'm so sorry. I know this is not the place you wanted to be. Calling in help from outside the family is hard enough most times. Making adapations to the house tends to reinforce the reality that MS is progressing despite our best efforts to stop it. Glad to hear you have the resources to meet your present need though.
Holding good thoughts for you.
Mary
Oh boy, that doesn't sound good at all! Thank goodness for your husband, son, and helpful neighbor. I hope the steroids help do the trick for you and your legs start cooperating.
-Kelly
Just a thought.
