This week I want to get out to check out some hybrid cars. I have been going back and forth on trading in my pickup for one for some time now. If I can find one that I like, am able to get in and out of without much trouble, and payments are low enough I'll probably do the trade in. These 200 mile trips to the VA are just getting too expensive for me to handle.

Stuck at home with a sick child AGAIN........and waiting for the man to arrive to give a quote on a new heater.....oh, yesterday I felt good enough to do a spot of weeding in the garden, so here's hoping I can continue that.

was supposed to see MS nurse yesterday but cancelled due to sick son.

As for me, only one doc appt this week -- with my epilepsy neurologist.  This is the first time I will see her since I was dx'ed with MS in early March.  Should be very interesting to see her reaction to my MS diagnosis and what she thinks about my DMD therapy.

Interestingly, when I ended up in the hospital in late February (and was dx'ed for MS), they said that my 2004 MRI --ordered by my epi neurologist -- also showed lesions.  I wonder why she never told me that.  Perhaps you also get lesions if you have epilepsy.  I'll have to ask her that.  Which reminds me -- I need to make a list of questions so that I don't forget to ask what I need to.

The weekend went good.... Studied most of the day on Saturday. As some of you know I started working on my masters degree the first of July. What most of you do not know is I walk on August 6th to receive my Bachelors degree in Nursing. I have ben an RN for 21 years and lost my mind and went back to school.

Sunday went to church and sang. Then today the most amazing thing happened. Went to the Nueors office to pick up the official results of my MRI and was suppose to get my LP results (did not happen) anyway on the way home I began to get some hearing back in my left ear.

I have been deaf in that ear for 9 months. I noticed I could hear it pop when I swallowed so I tested it by listening to my voicemails. YEAH!!!!!!!!

Work tuesday wednesday saturday and sunday. Oh yeah and I made a 100 on my grad statistics test today.  It is stinkin hot in arkansas. Pray for cooler weather. Back on steriods starting tommorrow.

Thinking of all of you often

I am not working this week, so I have been doing lots of work in my garden and riding my horses which seems to be triggering my vertigo, last night I almost fell in the shower, so put the plug in and had to sit in the bath instead.  It is definitely made worse my moving my head, so I am not sure if it is CNS or inner ear problem but it seems to be getting much, much worse!

I have a MRI done tomorrow, it will be a brain one and the one that checks for problems with the hearing nerves and it will be using GAD.  I am really not expecting any thing as I suspect that most of my symptoms are from migraine that I am experiencing at the moment?

I won't know the results for a while as I was meant to trial the diuretics for 6 weeks and then go and see the ENT Specialist but my allergy to them has made that experiment impossible.

Cheers,
Udkas
P.S. Congratulations to your daughter Ren, my son is at UNI and working and it is a hard call, what an achievement!!

and hope you have fun with your friend DB, sounds exciting.

Kind thoughts and wishes to all on here...

Working till Thurs afternoon when I will pick up my friend from the airport.  He is one of my closest pals - he was my best man at my wedding, I chose this rather than have a maid of honour.  I've lived here in northern Alberta for 13 years and this is his very first visit ever; he's coming all the way from Nova Scotia.  I am so excited, I haven't seen him in 2 years.  I have a cleaner coming today to make the house spic and span, make up the guest room, etc.  So no stress and just lots of fun and laughs to look forward to.  Look like it's going to be heating up to 30 degrees celsius up here this week, so the AC will be staying on for sure.  Forest fires burning up north and the air quality is poor, not good for those with asthma, lucky I don't have this problem.

Gastroenterologist on Tuesday.

GP on Wednesday to provide update regarding other medical providers.

Thursday, Friday and Saturday, going to Mount Saviour - a Benedictine Monestary outside Elmira, NY.  Beautiful sheep farm in the middle of nowhere,

Trying to devise ways to beat the heat and humidity.  It's been brutal here in the NE, as it has been just about everywhere.

I have been to the dermatologist today and he checked my skin and said that all my moles and freckles are fine and he has no concerns. HURRAGH!! This means that s long as I do not have another relapse in the next 2 weeks I can ask to go back onthe trial again..I hope starting the screening in September..but this is not up to me.

Rest of the week...Tuesday..I am going on a paiinting workshop all day (I am a complete amateur but going with my sisters and some friends).

Wednesday....Working (Counselling client).

Thursday...offf to stay with my sister for a few days which will be blissful and all my family are getting together for my Mum's 73rd birthday (except my bro who lives in Oz) which will mean our children range in age from 2 - 26

Feeling happy about my appointment today and remain positive about the drug trial. :)

Visiting the body shop where DH took his truck last Friday after his auto accident. He wasn't hurt and neither were the occupants in the other car. What's going to hurt is the deductible to fix the truck

Wednesday -PT

Saturday- My oldest graduates with her BS in Biology and Minor in Psychology!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We are SO proud of her! Making the Dean's List while working was mighty impressive.
Celebration afterward!

Hope everyone has a good week!

I have a slow week.  I have an appointment with my PCP on Wednesday to talk about how we will coordinate treatment between her and neurology.  Plus my regular stuff like thyroid.  Then my appointment at the MS Clinic here at the University.

Hope it all goes well

. . . . I tried to work out lunch with twopack on Friday but that isn't going to happen because of planning on my side.

May I suggest sitting up straight next time?
Sorry, couldn't resist.  I guess I'll cross star gazing off my to-do list as they apparently remain out of wack.  Enjoy the cruising and cuisining.  You're a real ambassator Lulu.

We'll make it work one of these days.

Maybe this will be the week I clean my house?  LOL  I keep hoping that urge will kick in, but so far it hasn't hit. I have 3 more weeks until I return to work full  time to get this done.

My social calendar is pretty busy this week - I tried to work out lunch with twopack on Friday but that isn't going to happen because of planning on my side.  It's about a 4 hour drive to rendezvous with her, so we will just keep trying.

This past Saturday started the fun - Cosmobirdy and I had lunch with Shoshin - delightful company and we talked all sorts of things, including her treatment at Stanford with Dr. Dake.  The lunch and especially the desserts were great. Yummy.

Sunday was my family reunion - lots of food, company and heat. Eating Home made ice cream helped to cut the heat for a few minutes.

Tuesday is a lunch with a college friend - we just reconnected when he found out I am dealing with MS  - he was dx'd about the same time. We've picked a quiet place where we can linger and talk a long while.

Wednesday I am lunching with the mother of one of our grad students - she also has MS.  We've talked before and I'm excited to get thhis chance to spend more time with her.  BTW - she has been on Ampyra (or compound equivalent) for a long time .

Thursday and/or Friday - perhaps then I will clean? I could at least clean out my refrigerator.  LOL

Saturday, DH and I are heading to PA to spend some time with DJ (shadowsister). I'm sure this will involve a number of opportunities to eat more good food. I have not seen her since she relocated from CA in April (?).  She said to give all of you her best and promised that she will write something soon.  Last week her left arm stopped working so typing is kind of tough right now. :-(

Hopefully nothing medical is going to pop up ......... I need my strength to eat my way through the week.

best, Lu

Pretty much the usual for me.  Work a couple of days (midnights of Wednesday, yuck), agility class with the dog, and PT to work on muscle stretching and balance.

I am going for a massage today.  It should be the perfect compliment to the PT.  I haven't had one like this is a while.  My practitioner does a combo of massage, chiro and energy work.  She always knows exactly which spots need the most work.  I'm so glad she's back in town after moving out of state for a while.

I did finally find my mother-of-the-groom dress so I need to go for an alteration fitting some day this week.  I won't have to sit in the back row of the church in my yoga pants for the wedding now and I actually kind of like this dress.

If the stars line up right and storm clouds stay away, I may get the opportunity to get together with a special person late in the week.

I stayed in all weekend too :-)

Today I don't have much planned. I might make some cookies with the kids. I don't make cookies very often because I'm too tempted to eat them LOL

Tomorrow is a busy day. I'm taking the kids to the movies in the morning. If anyone has Regal Theaters near you, they do a Free Family Movie on Tuesday & Wednesday mornings during the summer (you can probably Google to see what is playing in your area). After the movie we will be grocery shopping. In the evening we'll pick up my husband from work (we are down to one car, unfortunately) and then I need to go get the chest x-ray that my PCP ordered last week (for the chest pressure)

The rest of the week is pretty low-key. Just doing school work mostly.

Sunday we will go back to the amusement park, we haven't gone at all this month!

I hope everyone has a good week and stays cool!
