That all sounds so familiar but you would never guess what I did, I did make an appt to see my MS Dr's asst and i forgot my new med list and i had just printed it. And I forgot my notes I had to take with me. And my husband had another appt so he was not with me.
I feel like crying, we did talk about my cog issues and she has referred me to someone..and I did telll her about the pain...but we were distracted and i forgot about it.
I am so lost most of the time...
She did give me her email address so I am going to send her a message...
This is really the only place that I really get help and you guys are always here. Most of he time anyway..lol
love, meg
I have pain in my left arm and both legs. I am on multiple meds as the neuro and pain management feel it is neuropathic in nature. I take gabapentin, nortrityline, Trileptal in addition to IV ketamine.
The ketamine has seemed to have lost it's charm but the other 3 are still working hard, something I learned when I tried to decrease the gabapentin. Amtriptyline or nortriptyline are great adjuncts (helpers) in combination with gabapentin.
I would call the neuro and inquire about something to help the gabapentin be more useful. The fact that Vicodin doesn't work backs up the fact that it sounds neuropathic in nature.
I hope he is willing to call something in for you so you don't have to travel 3 hours for a simple add-on drug. Let us know what your neuro has to say about this. I do hope it settles down as I know firsthand how bad the pain can be.

I've had a pain in my upper arm that comes and goes. It feels like a sore muscle or tendonitis. I never thought it could be MS until reading your problem. To everyone on the forum: How do you know when something is or isn't MS related?
I am on neurontin and it doesn't help my arm, but it's an option for you. Everyone is different. It's possible if you call the neuro like sllowe suggested maybe they could give phone advice or even call in a prescription.
It ***** to have these problems - I feel for you hun! Luckily we all have each other to get advice from!
Hoping you get some answers,
Jeny
Hi Meg,
Geesh - you def. don't need the add-on. Can you call your 3 hr away neuro? And, describe it. That way, if he/she feels it's not MS related, you can see your local MD? Just thinking out loud here.......

lett me see, pain is not easy to describe but it seems to happen in my upper arms and lower legs and it just hurts...the arm that is the worse is now constant, and now i can easily say "painful" and i cannot use it much at all without causing pain. It feels like maybe it does when you maybe threw out something or a pulled muscle.
Not sure if that helps..
@wobley, do take vicodin and gabapentin now. The vicodin doesnt seem to help it.
hugs. meg
Can you describe this pain?
Hi Meg. Are you on any meds for pain? Gabapentin? I'm not sure I could help with this, but I wanted to say that I hope you feel better soon. When you see your Dr, ask about pain meds.
take it easy
