Good thing I didn't hold my breath

Well it is now Thursday and still no call back from the Prosthetics Department at the VA.  They said they would call me on Tuesday after they spoke to the PT department.  I have tried a couple of times to call them in case you are wondering. But they won't answer the phone ( last try I let it ring for 20 minutes). That's the Prosthetics department not the VA itself.

Hi Dennis,
I am so sorry that you are getting such a run around. You really don't need any more frustration! I hope it all works out for you soon :)
Good luck,
Deb

No call yet! I doubt the guy from Prosthetic Department even talked to the PT woman the next day at all. I have an appointment on the 16th of this month with my PC and I'll talk to the Patient Advocacy office about this then.

Have they called, yet?   I'm glad you were not holding your breath. We would have to do virtual CPR.

I have one BP medication with those instructions, but I don't cut it in half. I just take a whole one about mid day. It is one that tends to crumble. I also take 2 other BP medications so this seems to work for me.

my directions say "take one half" of a pill in am and pm
the druggist said I am cutting them the same way he would!
so will stop by there tomorrow and talk to the nurse AGAIN
as I am not out of pills and the new press that is on file will
not give me enough if I have to keep cutting them in half and
throwing half away!  ha ha
have a good week-end, am dealing with incompetent ac installers

At least there is a good reason for having to cut your pills in half. With the VA they give me all of my pill type medications at double the dosage I am to take and have me cut them in half.

Of of my medications is in a weird shape and small which makes it impossible for me to cut in half. It always turns out to be more like 1/4 and 3/4 with the cuts. When I complained about this to my doctor she just sent me another pill cutter that was exactly the same as the one I was using.  And yes they make the pill in the dosage I take.

Oh Dennis, why am I not surprised!  I think we surmised that would be the outcome, you have been buried once again under a mountain of paperwork.

Tis similar to my cardiac doctor.  Unable to convince him on the phone that Inderal cut in half produces one good half (maybe) and a crumbled other half of a pill, I sent him 3 half pills all powdered to prove my point.  That was 3 weeks ago and am still waiting for a new prescription for double the amount of pills so I wind up with the correct amount of half pills I need!

No, the pill does not come in a smaller dosage, should anyone wonder!
The marvels of medicine, they can do brain surgery but not simple math and comprehension or follow up.
