I had an almond size one in my ureter for four months. I have two full ureters on the left side. Mine was to big to pass so I had surgery.

I now drink lemonade on the recommendation of the Neurologist. In NC we have one of the highest rates of kidney Stone and the sweet ice tea is the main reason.

Mine was mostly caused by an unchecked urinary infection and the extra ureter. I have not had anymore problems in ten years.

I have a friend who has chronic kidney stones.  There are foods and beverages she avoids, including colas.  And does like Paula said and avoids caffeine.

Here's hoping the news from the radiologist is positive for you.

Kat,

sorry for the pain you are experiencing. I know that kidney stones hurt very bad. I have never had them but have had some friends who have. The docs say that it is very close to the pains of labor.

I don't know what you can do to ease the pain. I know that drinking lots of water will help to flush it out, stay away from caffiene though.

Good luck with passing them,

Paula
