I have more questions than answers:(

Hi everyone long time no post:))

Just got back from seeing my GP and he has prescribed me Lyrica and  compression stockings!......and also Lutenyl to regulate my monthlys (as their every 2 weeks now so what the benefit of that is I have no idea!!......duh:)

Does anyone have any experience with taking Lyrica (sp not sure) and the use of the tights for water retention?

I do s/c every day 5 times a day, which is rather unpleasant to say the least, but I am holding an awful lot of water I feel like I'm puffed up like a ball.

When I came back home this was the first place that I thought to toss these questions out;))

Hugz to you all,

Debs x

I loved Lyrica. It worked with in a week. I had to give it up because with my double vision I can't drive on certain drugs and Lyrica is one of them.

I am very happy these days. You will love this two days ago my dog Grady drank a bottle of mineral oil I had leather soaking in! Boy did it clean him out.

Welcome home!

Golly if we had a $ for every 'wrong' assumption people make, we'd have our own little pots of gold lol My old dr had the wrong assumption food would fix everything, she'd tell me to eat more no matter why i went to see her. lol i have a lump in my breast, ok now you dont have much breast tissue (ta i noticed lol) so just eat more of this and that and come back in a few weeks, errr what?!

lol I was constantly stuffing my face every 2 seconds, I had people at work grumbling because i was constantly eating and still skinny and my dr grumbling because she had it in her head that i didn't eat enough lol a cure all for skinny galls rofl.

And back on topic (lol) i spoke to my brother who has peripheral neuropathy and he was rx 'endep' for nerve pain, it took the edge off but after awhile it didn't work as well. His dr told him a combination of meds is quite usual for nerve pain and its often difficult to find the right combination that works with out too many side affects, trial and error type of deal he thought.

Have you seached drugs.com to see if water retention (or blowing up like a balloon) is a side affect of Lyrica or even Lutenyl, could be when combined or also with something else you could be on? If you haven't it might be worth having a look.

Ho ho ho back at you!

Cheers........JJ

Thanks for your input Sarah.

I too was wondering why I have to wear these compression stockings as opposed to a diuretic........he said that the reason that I'm holding water was because I don't move about enough and told me to get a stationary bike to get me moving.  I did try to tell him that I am active, but he didn't listen:(

What sort of problems did you have coming off Lyrica?

I used Lyrica for 2 yrs for muscle pain and it was a B...H to get off of.........
but wasn't totally happy with it.  I find Neurontin better

Has your doctor suggested diuretics for your water retention problem?

I tried Lyrica for nerve pain. It worked well but made me spacey and I could not drive. Everyone is different. Good to hear from you. I was thinking of you. I am well and back to normal. I am also strangely happier. May be you have to feel like total crud to feel happy.
