I have had muscle twitching, fasciculations in the past. In my instance you can see the skin twitching and it feels like little jumping beans under my skin on my arms and legs. It alternates an sometimes I have had my eyelid twitch throughout the day. I read that it can be caused by magnesium deficiency, caffeine and also lower motor neuron disease among many other causes.

I have tremors. From head to toe. They aren't fun. My husband says I look like I'm dancing when I walk. Dr gave me propanol started with 20mg now at 100mg daily. Still shaken I'm moving it up every 3 days. I also have had muscle twitching but with the tremors I wouldn't even know if it was going on. I am not working as of march 4,2010. Dr gave me a month off. I don't think I'm going back at this rate. I cut hair and manage a salon. I don't think I can cut hair and stand all day any more. I don't think anyone would want me to cut there hair shaking. I have bad discs in my back from top to bottom. Pain is my middle name when I work. Sorry for the length of this! Try muscle relaxers for spasms and shking muscles may help.    Leigh

Eyelid twitch was making me cuckoo about a year ago, off & on for several months.  I still have some finger twitches.

Now that we've discussed twitches, spasms, and fasciculations, let's not forget tremors and myoclonus while we're at it.  I don't have a good clear handle on the distinctions.  Maybe it's because I've probably had them all at one time or another?

I tend to suffer what Steph has, moreover.  Sometimes upon waking and trying to go to sleep, I go through about 20 minutes of various twitches.  Then when I'm having a good day/week, I don't notice them as much... but when other symptoms start flaring up, the twitches do to.  I hate the chin/lower lip.  Everybody always thinks I'm getting ready to cry.

I have fasciculations (I think what you mean by twitching) in a few specific places.  When my other sx get worse, these appear.  They are irritating (eapecially in my cheek and eyelid) but not particularly harmful.

I'm undx.

I'm not sure if what I have is twitching but I do jerk a lot.  My legs will just go crazy at times and my hands will do it usually right when I'm trying to put a fork in my mouth.  Not a pleasant sight. hahaha

Sometimes I jerk really hard and other times it's very light.  My doctor prescribed Baclofen for it and it has done a wonderful job on controlling it.  It hasn't stopped by no means but at least it's not quite as painful or often.

I'll be praying,
Carol

just when the muscle twitches, not the limb. you can see the muscle twitching.  I have odd spasm where whole limb moves.
