Leg vibration feeling?

Hello! I was diagnosed with Lupus around 6 years ago. I was diagnosed with Behcet's Disease about a year ago. For years now very sporadically I will wake during the night feeling like the insides of my body are vibrating, but it doesn't happen very often. For about 2 weeks now my left lower leg feels like it is vibrating inside, it happens throughout the day and night. I can't feel it vibrating on the outside when I place my hand on it. When it's bad it will do it for hours about every 10 to 5 seconds and vibrate for 2 or 3 seconds. It drives me crazy! One night it woke me vibrating continuously for about an hour. My internist examined me and is suspicious of MS. My sensory perception is decreased about 30% in that lower leg. She is doing some other testing. Any ideas or information as to what could be causing this? Thanks for any suggestions or information!

Goodness - this is now the third time in a week that I have heard about Behcet's - I had never heard about it until this week.  There was a rheumatologist on the Doctor Radio channel on XM radio this week that is recognized as  a world-leading authority on the disease.  Our own redflame (Lois) has been told she has the genetic marker for Behcets.

It is unusual to have two autoimmune diseases - at least that is what we read.  I certainly hope you don't have MS as well.

It sounds like your doctor is taking your symptoms seriously - doing additional tests is a good idea to at least determine if this could be something other than the Behcets

Feel free to ask all your questions about the process- just keep in mind it is a diagnosis just like Behcets - a dx of elimination, and everything else has to be checked out thoroughly.

be well, Lulu

Hello must be frustrating. I am no Doctor. It sounds like nerves are getting the wrong signals. I do not know anything about either disease you have. Your Doctor is probably concerned by the symptom plus your reflexes. Are you having a follow up with a Neurologist? I would not jump right to MS yet there are many things which mimic MS.
