Sarah, I know that there is a new ICD that can go through the MRI without a problem. As for resetting the older ones, I think from what I have read, that is also possible. The cardio and mfg rep being present should be key to this imaging.
I know some of the other implantable devices are resettable through a simple sending of signal - If you continue to have doubts, please talk to your doctors again and get all your quesitons out in the open.
thanks Lu.......yes the cardiologist and rep will be there, my only question for them is "how about those WIRES" down in the artery! LOL won't they get hot?
I will back out of the procedure if they can't explain it to my satisfaction!
had the cervical CT done yesterday, everyone was very nice except the tech and she was horrible....guess she was having a bad day........she was furious because I took off my shoes (I said "I prefer to") and then ignored me when I asked for help in getting up off her narrow table...R leg doesn't always cooperate.........is not a hospital I usually go to, so have the disc, now to wait til April for him to read it, not sure I can read it.ha ha
will keep everyone posted!
Many of the new ICD, pacers and pumps are rated for 3.0T MRIs. The manufacturer will know the best way to handle your device.
Bob
