I see the occupation specialist on the 27th. will definatly be interesting. what worries me is i can still do alot, just not for very long. i cant write more than few sentences. cant walk or stand for more than about 20 mins. so i know i can do things, just takes me a long time. if i vacuum i need to stop for half hr, hang washing out takes forever and again, stop for half hr. the trouble is they dont see that, and in the apt yes i can squeeze his hand for a few seconds, so they go on that and then say shes good to go. aargh just frustrated. see new neuro tomorrow, hopefully he listens, will keep u posted. thanks for your input
I am diagnosed and work fulltime. I couldn't handle baclofen.
I currently take 300 Neurontin at bedtime with a tompomax and a flexeril
I take a topomax in the morning and sometimes a Flexeril and sometimes I ave to take a flexeril (and sometimes leve or ibuprofen) mid day.
I take some other stuff too, but they are not relevant to this conversation.
The occupational doctor will assess what kind of work you can do within the confines of your physical abilities limitations (which includes side effects of any meds), your academic background, your occupational skills, your aptitudes, and your capacity for training. Be forthcoming about your limits but go into the assessment with open mind. You never know, you may figure out something that will be really well suited to you.
I will be doing 15 morning and night and 10 in the afternoon. I cant honestly imagine working full time again right now, no medication helps fully, or stops the cramping and fatigue, let alone forgetfullness or dizziness.
I hope you are lucky with your employers, mine did absolutly nothing for me, do I tell prospective employers I am on all this medication?? I dont know, money wise we need me to work, health wise I just dont feel I can just yet. I am sure you all are probably in the same boat.
Also as I blacked out while driving and caused an accident (minor thankfully) I dont feel confidant in myself to drive far right now. I have no memory of how it happened, just remember "coming round' to constantly rear ending this poor guys car and having to physically pull my leg of accelerator, yet they expect me to get a job again. When all I can think is what kind of job can I do now?
Sorry just venting. Feels like everything piling up after having a very bad few days straight now
I am on a number of drugs and I do work full time. It might take a while for your body to adjust to the baclofen . If you are taking 40 mg, are youtaking 10mg 4 times a day or something different? I take 60-80 mg a day, but tht is the total dosage.
I'm sorry you are hanhging in limbo.... perhaps the doctor willhave answer soon.
