Pain

For the last 3 days, I've been experiencing some leg troubles again. It started off with my normal leg shaking and then progressed to me not being able to make my leg go forward without much effort on my part. The shaking and the dragging leg seems to have gotten better but I have now had weakness and pain in both legs for the past 2 days. The pain is different though than what I normally get from the spasms and such. I can't really explain it other than to say it hurts. The left leg the pain is in the calf area and the back of the thigh and the right leg is in the front of the thigh and in the foot.

Needless to say I'm not sleeping much from this and was wondering if my percacet will help this. I just don't like taking them unless I absolutely have to as they make me feel weird. Does anyone think this will help me or should I just try to ride it out?  I'm just getting so blasted tired that I'm thinking it's worth a try but then if it won't help this then I don't want to take them for no reason.

Thanks for any help you can give me.
Hugs

Thanks again for all the advice. I did take the percocet and it did relieve the pain enough that I was able to get to sleep. The only problem was that we had 3 thunderstorms roll through here during the night so once again I didn't get much sleep. lol Just can't seem to win from losing these days.

Sunny, thank you for the prayers and have a really good trip.

Jo, I listened, hope you slept well.

Deb, I may try to see about getting some other kind of pain med as these do make me feel loopy. Thanks for the suggestion.

Amy, I never thought to try to cut them in half, I'll try that the next time!! Love ya too.

Hugs to all of you

Sunnytoday describes pain the way I feel it; like a deep aching all the way in your bones.  My thighs are my biggest issue, then my spine (the whole thing) is next.

Moki, pain meds make you able to tolerate pain.  Maybe it doesn't "remove" it, but it makes you able to manage while it is there.  Take it if you need it.  Or do what I do, take half and wait an hour and then take another half if necessary.

Love to you,
Amy

Moki--get some relief with your pain medicine.  When your at the doctors next time, ask for something that doesn't make you so loopy.  I have good luck with Ultram.

Quix--I get the deep bone-aching pain from time to time.  I don't get it as often as I used to.  I will get it in an arm or a leg and it's really painful.  The arm pain starts at the shoulder and radiates down my arm to my wrist.  When I get it in my leg, it seems to start at the hip and radiate down the outside of my leg.

I do remember a few times when I couldn't lift my arm very high (not even from the side) without causing pain.  I know this has happened more than once.  Since this happened before my diagnosis, I've not ever mentioned it to a neuro and couldn't tell you what causes it.  Thankfully, the pain for me didn't last long--just a few days.

Hi, I quick note here before I jump in bed.... I too deal with that pain in my legs... at first with my flare in May and June I had that weird pain that was only when clothing rubbed on it...

But now it's that deep inside pain constant that is almost from my hip down to my toes. My mom rubs my legs every day to help with the spasticity and somedays are better than others, but days like today I can barely handle it to have her even touch them, I just want to cry. It's like the bones themselves just hurt, and if you touch my legs it just radiates to the outside and just pounds. Heaven forbid that you try to push around, that sends me theough the roof some days.

You have both described the pain very well.

I feel so much for the two of you.

I pray that somehow you find relief, and that when I return from my trip you will be feel a bit better and have had some pain-free days to tell me about.

((((hugs))))

Dearest Heart, you are not hijacking my thread by any means. We are both in pain and looking for answers. I think I'll take the wonky dance shaking over this pain any day.

The pain I am having is somewhat like you are describing. That is why it was so hard for me to explain. I have had the muscle spasms and this is completely different than that. The pain in my legs don't involve the whole limb but a good half of it.It's my whole upper thigh and the whole lower calf and the whole foot. Like you the skin isn't really painful but any pressure hurts me as well.

I think I'll break down and try the percocet tonight. With all that has been going on lately I really need to get some sleep. So here's hoping it works!!

I really hope you get some relief too Quix. You know my thoughts are with you.

Hugs

All I can say is if the pain is intense, then try the percocet.  If it helps, then you know.

I am continuing to have pain in my right arm.  Part of it feels like a tendonitis in my forearm.  But the rest is this deep aching in all parts of the forearm and my upper arm and even into the hand.  It feels like the muscles are damaged and hurting.  I can't lift anything except to carry something with my arm straight down - like a bucket.  The skin is not really painful, but pressure hurts a lot.

Do you - or anyone else - have pain like this, that involves the whole limb, not just speicific muscle groups?  I don't think there is any spasm.

Moki, sorry to hijack your thread.  I'm sorry you're in pain and I 'm sorry I'm in pain, too.  I don't understand my pain.  I usually do understand things, so it's disturbing.
