Yes I do take neurontin and it does help some. I cannot take flexoril or any other muscle relaxors as I am allergic. I did take prednisone, but it did not seem to be doing anything. I have been told that I have arthritis in my back, but this pain is in my hands, both of them. And it hurts when I type and when I play the piano or do just about anything with my hands. I think I should be getting close to the end of my flare, because the other symptoms are starting to disappear. I am hoping this will stop as well. I just assumed that this went with the other symptoms, but maybe I should make sure that this is not something else. Thanks for the suggestion and help.

Hi Sweetie, I know I haven't talked to you before, but I would like to say hi and give you some advice about joint and muscle pain. I am sorry you are having these problems, I feel for you. I have Stills disease which is a arthritis kind of like rheumatoid arthritis, it is very painful.
Do your joints become hot, warm, red, swollen or tender? Are you running any kind of fever? Do you have any rashes? Are both of the legs or arms affected or just one side?
Have you tried naproxen? Meloxicam? Flexeril? Baclofen? Neurontin? Prednisone? I am currently taking 20mg's of prednisone three times a day to try to get my flare under control and I take neurontin for pain, although I have to admit it does not help much with the bone pain but helps with the muscle pain. I also take Flexeril three times a day with a xanax to calm the muscles, I have severe spasticity in my hip and I usually get a nice shot of lidocaine in my back everytime I go to the Dr office. It is worth the money for the few hours of relief.
I have been hit and miss on the forum but if you need to talk in more detail about the joint and muscle pain, send me a msg. I am here for you Sweetie. Try to hang in there and I would maybe get a call in to your Dr and have him run some blood work to see if you are having an inflammatory process going on. I wish you well.
Your Friend,
Ada
