Any suggestions what I can do?

Hi all, wanted to know what I can do regarding my pins and needles in feet. I dont have Nuero appointment till 09, Im guessing they waiting to see how this plays out. The last time I saw my nuero it was about 30th of October.  The pins and needles increases some what to my right hand from time to time uneasy to type. The white spots in corner of eyes also have gotten even more irritating.  Last time I've saw my nuero he had prescribe
"Valproate" he stated it would help with the pins and needles and the headaches, have anyone tried it? I did not fill the prescription, I research it out and the side affect scared the **** out of me so to speak.  Also having burning sensation on and off and hands and feet.

Thank you for the help :)

I completely agree with Lulu.  If the benefits outweigh the risks then you might want to try it.  BUT if the pins and needles don't bother you enough to make you willing to risk bad side effects, maybe not.  Only you can decide.

Blessings,
Sally

I looked at Valproate and find this -   USES: This medication is used to treat seizure disorders. It works by restoring the balance of certain natural substances (neurotransmitters) in the brain

Sounds like it has possibilities of working for the pins and needles, but I'm no medical expert.

Side effects listed for every drug made are pretty scarey - I think you have to weigh the potential benefits and decide accordingly.  From wht I read the side effects of Valproate are pretty much the standard list - you find those for every drug.

Good luck with trying to decide if this is for you.

Hi, I am with you about the pins and needles in the hands and especially my feet.  I have my appt with the MS specialists on the 4th December after a 4 month wait.  I am open to any suggestions to help alleviate the pins and needles, they drive me nuts.
I am hoping the specialist will be able to help with this, if he can, I will let you know.
All the best

I know some of the side effects of med do scare you from taking them and I can't blame you for not taking some... I haven't tried that med... and I'm not yet Dx so I'm usually afraid to add more side effects onto my symptoms if I really don't need too..

so if I can handle the pains or symptoms, I try not to take the med...

I'm not saying to not take the meds...it's only my opinion... if you find you need to take something please take it...and try to see if it helps..ALOT of side effects won't effect you..only some maybe??  they are just warnings OK...so just watch out for them if you take the med..

so the decision is up to you if you should try it to help?  Or call the Neuro office and see if you could get another med??

take care and good luck
