OT just out of 2 Day stay at Duke

The Doctors at Duke Cancer Doctors took one look at my dehydrated, anemic, tachacardic self and admitted me to the hospital for two day. They took great care of me. I had to have fluids, potassium, magnesium, and 2 units of blood. I feel much better. I was puking when the Doctor came in the Exam room. The Resident and the Doctor were pretty shocked at condition. Especially when they were feeling for lymph nodes and they hit bone right away. The care was excellent from the get go. My husband and I are so happy.

Thanks for all yours prayers. They have been answered.

JJ, I told Alex earlier that if Duke would take her as a patient, I would root for Duke for a year.  Most of us root against Duke Blue Devils, mainly because we are jealous that they get the top talent and have a great coach and program.  


I am so happy that Duke has taken Alex in for care.

So sorry that you have had such a rough ride recently but very happy that you have at last found a caring, compassionate medical team who have understood your needs and helped you to improve. No one deserves what you have been through and you are a very strong woman. I will continue to think of you and send you love and prayers.

The Blue Devils are Duke's Sports Teams. It was Methodist College. They win a lot of college basket ball titles. The coach also coaches the American Olympic team. It is better than UNC which are the Tar Heels, no one knows what that means!

College basket ball is serious business so for Laura to say she will cheer for Duke that is a big deal.

I am always sorry to hear about the utter sh!t you've had to deal with, seriously going to Duke just has to be the best move ever, its a relief to know your being treated with the care and kindness we know you deserve!

Really happy to read about your excellent care for a change. You are a tough bird and a great advocate for managing your health but many times I hoped that you'd get a break.
I did think I'd start painting with you but funny how things change. Hopefully you can still find time for this gift. I've just decided to go back and study accounting at post graduate level so I guess my time is now taken up 'painting' by numbers.
