Ok I'm on a writing binge!

Here's my next one, for some reason I just got to do some creating  :)

The Scent of Lilacs

The Scent of Lilacs in the air
Brings hopes of spring everywhere
Soon we'll see the butterflies,
For now the blooms begin to rise,

Slowly as the days march by,
The lilacs wither with a sigh,
As summer comes and days grow long
Mother Earth sings her song

Into autumn now we go
As vivid colors around us flow,
The trees prepare for winter’s prize,
As leaves float to earth like butterflies

Now the trees will prepare,
For winter’s roar without a care,
The air turns cold as snowflakes fall,
The frost from Jack surrounds us all,

Then slowly winter fades away,
replaced by warmth every day,
Mother’s song begins again,
While softly falls the springtime rain,

As sunshine spreads and rain subsides
The arc of color no longer hides
The rainbow now no longer there,
The Scent of lilacs in the air.

This reminds me of  traditional Haiku, which is always written about a season, or seasons. Funny how the creative juices ebb and flow - I hope this spurt lasts a while for you.

I started a creative expressions group here and I would love to see you post your writings there if you're inclined to share.  The things there stay on the first page a lot longer than here.! LOL

Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for invite, I've joined your group and I've posted the first two..

I've got a phrase now rattling around in my head so I'll probably post another one over there soon.
