SHAKEY, SHIFTY EYES!

Hello to Everyone!

How was everyones' weekend?  Hope all is somewhat as well as could be expected!  Question. Hee Hee.  Surprise, surprise.
Okay,  I have been having a little problem with my eyes, every so often.  I was talking to someone about it and they said to mention it on my forum.  Every so often, all of a sudden, my eyeballs shake.  They don't vibrate shake, where I can actually feel any kind of shaking sensation.  The vision shakes, for a split second, then goes back to normal.  It seems to me that when this happens, they shake side to side or horizontally.

I do have ON, but this started happening a little before I was dx with the ON.  Not dx MS yet, still in the works.  I do remember saying something to my optometrist, before I went to an Opthamologist, and she just looked at me.
My friend said something about looking into Nystagmus, and to let my Opthamologist know about it.  It doesn't happen very often, but I also have an astygmatism though.  So what do ya think, any takers on this one?  Thanks so much guys!   Chiao   Sandie

I have MS >20 years, by the time I had ON and an MS diagnosis (5yrs to dx) I began to have tremor in my eyes,& eyelids. I get full body tremor now if my blood pressure rises (along with much reduced field of vision in my right eye..).
The tremor in my eyes has abated but have tremor elsewhere -its annoying more than anything.
My tremor worsens with higher blood pressure - its like having your own blood pressure meter - my teeth chatter as I get more angry/emotional...
no idea if this is the same reason your eyes shake, but you have my sympathy as its a bit embarrassing and hard to watch tv...

I went to the neuro and he thinks my problem is migranes.  I went on the Nystagmus weblink and it seemed like that, but the mre I looked around, my problem might be different.

I am going to the opthamologist in Jan so I will know more then.

I do hope you get some answers.  Sorry I don't know more.

Hi Sandie,
Thank you so much for posting this.  I am having these wierd indescribable issues with my eyes.  it almost feels like they pulse and my vision gets disturbed.  It can last for seconds or hours depending on how fast I can rest my eyes.

My optomitrist put a prism in my eye glasses and the episodes happen a lot less but still there.

Anyway, you and Michelle (thank you too) must be my angels.  I have been trying to get an answer for this for weeks and I go to the neruo this morning!!! Now I know what I want to describe to him.  I felt so wierd trying to describe it before.

Sandie I do hope you find answers for yourself. it could be that Michelle is right. I will let you know what my neuro says today. Gonn request a referral to a neuro opthamologist :)

Good day to you

Hi Sandie,

It sounds like Nystagmus.  (see the link below).  I would recommend going to a Neuro-Ophthalmologist. That would be the best doctor for you to see.

Hugs,
Michelle
