Saw Nuero yesterday, going back on Tysabri, yeah!

Well my visit yesterday wasnt too great. Sliding downhill, most likely the vocal chord infection causing the downhill slide.

I really was doing well on Tysabri, and neuro feels that is the best DMD for me at this point.  She is going to change it, once the "BG pill" come out.

http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2011-10-26/biogen-multiple-sclerosis-pill-bg-12-cuts-relapses-in-late-stage-study.html

I didnt know what this is, so looked it up and gave a link above.

She is not liking Gilenya too much, "too many side effects" and is very pleased so far with the "other" pill going to come out. (I already have some eye issues and asthma, so it is not a good med for me.  I am also JC negative, so she is "very" comfortable for me to go back on Tysabri.

Anway, she is going to put me on a antiviral med for at least 6 months, while I go back to Tysabri.  She wanted to know if my ENT was an "open" doc and would be willing to work with her. She wants back and forth communication with him, so he can follow my vocal chords while I am on Tysabri. She looked at all his notes, and the Clinic is all computerized and any doc can look up any doc and see their exam.

So, thats what is happening, and I am really happy to get back on Ty.  I noticed a big change in my symptoms, all for the better on TY. I have a follow up today with ENT, and hope my vocal chords are healed.

By the way, I just LOVE my neuro and wish all of you could have such a great doc as her.

Michelle

I'm sorry to hear about your vocal chord infection...I hope your recovery will be expeditious.

Im so happy to hear that you have such a great and trusting relationship with your Neurologist.  There are so many that could only dream of such happening.

I'm also happy to hear that you're going back on Ty.  Who the heck wants side effects? (yah I know)

I too wish you the best and hope to hear how you're doing

Great news Michelle,
You sound very hopeful, like you are at the bottom of the downhill and about to fly like a bird.

Thanks for the info on the BG12 pill as I had never heard of it.

An old bloke in our MS  support group took one Gilenya pill recently and ended up in hospital for a couple of weeks. Best of luck to those whom it works, but I have heard too many dodgy stories about this little pill to give me the confidence to try it.

I wish you all the best.

Blessings

Michelle,
I hope your vocal folds are healed as well.

I am through with any Doctor who will not talk to my other Doctors.

Yeah for Tysabri.

I hope you feel much better.
