Sorry for being missing so long!

Hi all!!

Just a quick post, well you know me, when is it ever really quick....  :)   I have been off the forums for over a month now.  Doing good, no health issues causing my absence, just everything else in life going you know where.  Still neck deep in the whole ADA discrimination claim/charge thru the EEOC after being fired, but been okayed by the doctors to work if I want, so looking for a new job in what is beyond a horrible economy to be a 43 year old female looking for management position especially in the construction field....   filed for unemployment and not sure if my previous employer is playing more games, but was denied...  have a hearing setup for next Friday tho.   Hubby had surgery in late March, but he is doing wel and started back to full duty at work just this week (was on light duty for 3 weeks).   Lots of car fun too including a car fire....  no one was hurt, had parked the car and walked into the post office to mail off our taxes...  Talk about a bad tax day!!!   But took that with a little humor too, was joking with the police if they thought just a little wax and buffing it out would work...   they were great, even gave me a drive home.

MS wise, doing really well...   finally had that EMG (that was a fun time too....)...  the EMG showed arms and hands to be perfectly healthy, so the left arm / hand issue is definitely just from where a lesion happens to be sitting in my neck.   So at least have an answer there and we've just joked that this is my new norm for moving forward.  Its not terrible, could be so much worse, more just a buzz kinda sensation most of the time, but still have full use, so stop whining, right!???

Have been using the Wii Fit regularly and definitely would recommend the program to anyone thinking of trying yoga for help with MS symptom management.  I started the program with a Wii age of like 54 (think I hit 60 one day).  I am now testing out between 31 and 36 everytime, so definitely an improvement.

Still religiously taking my supplements and have been telling anyone who will listen to try the tart cherry if they have neuropathy.   I also have realized that lactose is a trigger for me as well as gluten, so have now elminated both from the diet.   So not sure if its just one thing or all things combined, but outside of eating an oopsie (like raisinets, which by the way are coated in MILk chocolate, duh...), I am doing really well and have very very few bad days.  Even with all the stress of the bad luck streak going on, its not really kicking my butt like it used to.

So, thats my 'quick' babble for today!!!   Have missed being online as much as before, but hopefully can get back into a routine that allows me more time for hanging out here :)

Hope everyone is doing well and spring has arrived everywhere!!

Hugs to everyone,

Jen

Hi Jen

We have missed you!!

Wow as they say when it rains it pours!  Now you are in for a string of GOOD LUCK!  Glad to hear the Yoga is working -  I have been going to
PT and it has been great but can't do that forever so I am looking for yoga tapes geared towards people with MS.

Stay well and glad you were not hurt!

Hugs
Tracy

Well, didn't set the car on fire myself...   but apparently the year of car had issues with a hydraulic / power steering system leak that under the perfect storm can ignite...  and i supposed tax day and going to the post office was the perfect storm :)

I was standing in line, heard someone come in and say the fire department was needed.  Didn't pay much attention, I was more lamenting the fact that I was mailling a check to the IRS...   Finally a second person came in as I was at the counter and I finally turned around to the dismay that it was my car that was smoking like all heck....  The police seemed to appreciate my sense of humor and offered me a ride home so no one had to leave work.  As the office said on the drive home, he thanked me for being a wisecrack type versus the hysterical screaming female, he said he always gets the hysterical ones....   My biggest worry and concern was the fact that my husband had a pair of Oakley sunglasses in the car...  you know how much those suckers cost????  :)   But, they were saved...  the fire was in the engine, the fire wall stopped it from spreading into the car, tho the engine area was a crispy mixture of black metal and melted plastic.

Could have been worse, I had driven the thing down into Philadelphia not too long ago and 40 minutes north to doctor appointments...  least I was only a few miles away from home at the post office...

It's great to hear from you, Jen! Sorry about the string of rotten luck, but it's great to hear that you're staying healthy. One question: How on earth does one set their car on fire???

Hugs and lots of wishes for continued good health,
Jane
