Hey, Goodlookin'! Great to see you. I think an EEG is a good thing to have done when people are in Limbo. A huge number (like 50%) of MSers have abnormal EEGs, but not necessarily that show a seizure focus.
Yes, different parts of the brain act up when there is intentional movement versus a movement disorder and when the eyes open and close. The strobe lights are to see if you are sensitive to the 6-cycle flashing. that will throw some seizure victims into a full-blown seizure and others will have an epileptiform brain wave with a frank seizure (though we don't know why Frank is there anyway).
Di they make you hyperventilate? that can bring on the "absence" seizures or grand mal also.
Yes, we expect a full report on Monday - fingers and toes crossed here. Actually my toes are often crossed all by themselves, but we will dedicate it to you anyway.
The merriment continues.

Hello there!
I had an EEG done last year, and it was much as you described, only I only had one person monitoring my test, and it only took an hour or so, so I didn't actually fall asleep, though the report said I was "awake/drowsy".
Mine showed no seizure activity, a benign variant called wicket spikes, and "intermittent nonspecific dysfunction over bilateral temporal regions, of uncertain clinic significance".
So, apparently mine was normal. I thought that dysfunction stuff would mean something, but I guess it wasn't dysfunctional enough to be significant! :o)
I hope you're doing OK; I haven't seen you around much. Can you let us know how your visit with your MS specialist on Monday goes?
Take care,
Kathy
