You can read about the items that Bob lists, in the following article from the NIH on Nystagmus

I hope this is just a temporary problem for you,

Mine always got worse when I was trying to focus on something. Really all you can do is avoid straining your eyes too much, and hope it gets better on its own.
Unfortunately there is not much that can be done for Nystagmus. The only thing that might be done, is if you have a head turn where the nystagmus is lessened. If you do, than sometimes prisms/surgery might make that position in the straight ahead gaze. Hope that makes sense...I know it is confusing.

Prism can help double vision, but the rapid lateral eye movement in nystagmus will not be helped. In nystagmus, it depends in the cause. There are 5 strategies to treat nystagmus:
* Methods that place the eye in a position in which nystagmus is minimized
* Optical and electronic methods for negating the visual consequences of the nystagmus
* Procedures for weakening the extraocular muscles
* Application of somatosensory or auditory stimuli to suppress nystagmus
* Drugs that suppress some forms of nystagmus.
You need to find an ophthalmologist hiw has experience in treating nystagmus.

bless you! lol sorry couldnt resist, i think prisms are sometimes used but often there isn't much that can be done. If you google you'll find a lot written about nystagmus, I did when i was dx but not sure if I can remember anything sorry.
