OMG! I had that happen to me I had a appt. for a dermatologist for granulomas anularis. It took 3 months to get a appt. by the time I seen her I had the prednisone and it changed it all, in fact it almost was gone so she thinks it psoriasis. It doesn't even look like psoriasis but after the pred. it got all dry looking.
Maybe you can call your Dermatologist and tell them whats going on first and if they can take up your appt.
Its not worth it having to wait again for another appt, or to get the correct diagnosis.
Its a waste of your time and hope.
Good Luck & Aloha

Hi, I was on Prednisone for the month of January 08 prior to going to the Mayo Clinic - needless to say I was doing much better by the time my appointment came at Mayo in February, so they didn't see me "at my worse." I had a difficult time expressing just how bad I was in Dec. , Jan. - but had everything down on my timeline.
My opinion is to take the Prednisone if it is causing discomfort, but make sure you take pictures of the rash now.
I'm not really sure about how it might effect the rest of your exam, hopefully someone else like Dr. Quix can answer that for you.
Best wishes,
