Hi Meg
Whatever the reason for the hives you must get it seen to and at the very last take some antihistamine. You are "hiving" such a tough time at the moment so allow yourself to wallow and get all the sympathy and help you can. BUT please get checked out to this allergic reaction..you cannot be too careful and I hope that Dr C has some answers. Hope you are not itchy as well.
Love and hugs

Oh how hate hives, I had a chronic case to which no one knows what they were caused from after 6 months I was so done with them though! Zyrtec and Zantac did the trick I found out the latter was actually developed as an allergy drug and they found out it helped with acid reduction - funny huh? Got rid of the hives when the straight dose of antihistamine would not - good luck!

I think you ought to see a Doctor tonight, you could be having a severe allergic reaction. It is always better to be safe than sorry.
Meg, please don't put off seeing someone medical about this. If you don't hear back from your neuro, consider the ER. I know we hate to do it, but you can't suffer through the hives on your own.
Could it be that the pneumonia wore down your resistance and you are a sitting duck for everything right now? I'm just guesssing here.
Feel better, Lulu
Hives can progress to the often fatal anaphylaxis at any point. All new hives should bee seen!
Take care of you!

Meg - have you gone to the doctor/ER yet? let us know how you are today.
Lu
I have been having hives for a few momths and have been seeing my Drs. for awhile now. I had steroid infections twice and it knocks it out the next day but you can not have them very often.
And I have been taking antihistamines the whole time but I am trying different ones hoping, like Melissa, that one will work. Other than that I stll have no answers. Its not that easy I am finding out. But I can't sleep, which i have trouble with anyway,.
I posted a pic of one leg on here...I don't give up you know so I will keep on trucking..
thanks, meg
