pain in skull top

hi folks...about 50 days back, I got hit on top of my skull - bang --- i thot it was minor. no loss of consciousness, no vomiting nothing...i went 2 ofice that day (i was hit accidently with an iron railing in my house)...2 days later i felt a lil strain on my head...and i got worried...i saw a doctor and he said it was nothing (he din do ny tests)....after 2 more days, i had a neck pain...now i was worried...but i had a doubt that it might have been due to a bad/wrong sleeping posture as it had begun since i woke up....so i saw a doc. and she game me an ointment to apply and the pain was gone in 2-3 days....but, i have had this strain on the top of my skull since then..i mean whenever i stretch at work or at internet, i get this strain-ensation in my head..also, the point in my skull, if i touch, it starts to give a sensation....can u guys suggest what it is...and is it normal for a minor skull injury to take so long in getting fine...theree was no blood or a cut at the time of the hit...thanks folks...

The muscles in the neck and shoulders run up to the head.  When a person injures those muscles, they often feel it in their head, and that's why sometimes they'll get headaches.  So, when you popped your head on the railing, you very likely wrenched your neck muscles too.  That's why you feel pain in your neck, and is probably why the pain extends up to your head.  Also, your head pain, you probably bruised the heck out of it, so it's going to be sore for a while.  Best thing you can do is slow and easy stretching exercises to loosen up your neck and shoulders where it got jammed up.  As for the bruise on your head, aspirin usually helps.  I suppose you could have cracked your skull or got a concussion, in which case that will take a lot longer to feel better... you could have a scan of your head to see if anything like that is going on.
