Benign or Cancer

So I got into a wreck, not a big deal but I ended up gettin an MRI and they found a 1.2cm lesion near my brainstem or cerebellum region not related to the accidnet.... Heres the thing that gets me.....
He did the eye test thing, the balance test etc. and two of the two neurosurgeons I have seen personally, they "think it its probaly benign" but they wanna review it with their board of dr.s tomorrow to find out if they wanna do more tests or not.I have to call them to find out what they said.
My question is, is there anything I can do to MAKE them do a test on me to make sure 100% its not cancer or a tumor. Thinking it is benign ...is not enough for anyone to accept especially when it could put your life on the line if it is a tumor. Ever since I found out I have this thing, ive have gotten very small random headaches and shooting pains once in a hile in my head to. Please help me, anything could help me.

My symptoms that could also be related to the brain injury(concussion on 3/30/08) i got from hittin the windshiled in the accident are:
Occasionally light headaches that reoccur, neck pain in the back, occasional lightheaded or dizzy that last seconds, slight misbalances i immediatly correct, eye palsy i got from the accident causing temporary double vision, Occasionaly shaky or nervous feeling. Feet sweat but are freezing

My dad never showed any anger toward my mom but after the surgery he started hitting her.  He became very racist.  He would tell people just what he thought of them without any regard for their feelings.  He would tell people they were "fat" or "ugly".  My mom stopped going to church with him because he would insult strangers!  When they went dancing he would do suggestive moves and ask other woman to dance. (not cool at this club!)  He started driving like a manic!  He drained all of thier savings to buy Elvis paraphellia!!  My dad (deceased now) was very dignified, charming, and proper acting before the brain surgery. He never gave Elvis a second thought!  He was an elder in the church.  He was 76 when he had the surgery.  My dad past away at the age of 81.  My poor mom suffered for 5 years with my dad's behavior.  He died in a car accident while he was at a stop sign.  Thank God my mon forgave him. I feel I lost my dad when he was 76 years old.  Does anyone out there want to buy any Elvis junk? ha ha

Your MRI discovered lesions or tumors on your brain.  The DR gave you tests to either rule out MS or do other tests if the DR think this may be the case.  They may order a spinal tap, very intrusive, in my opinion.  The DR will NOT "open" your head until every other avenue has been investigated.  If the DRs want to "open" your head get a 2nd, 3rd or even a 4th opinion.  You will NEVER be the same once they do brain surgery on you!!
My father had a tumor (non-cancerous) on his brain.  The Drs performed the surgery after my father insisted.  He was never the same afterwards.  Before the surgery, he loved to read, he was funny, loving and very involved with his family.  He was very devoted and active in his church.  My mom and dad would go dancing every Saturday.
After the surgery, he was never the same.  Be careful...

The reason the docs are hesitant to do more tests is because some will be INVASIVE tests, that is, they may have to surgically open up your skull and go into your brains to get a biopsy, and the risks from that are so high, that when weighed against the very slight possibility that it's cancer, that they've GOT to talk it over first.  It is possible to tell if it's benign from scan records, your history, age, bloodwork, and expert opinion from brain surgeons.  Also, plenty of people have benign growths in their body, including in the brain, and as long as they don't push up against anything important, they are best left alone.

Your other symptoms come from the car wreck.  I know you are worried.  And yes, you can demand they operate on your head, but they can also say no.  I would want that thing outta there, too.  But the reality is, you are better off doing what the doctor says when it comes to stuff in the brain.  Sorry no one got to your post before now.  I read your other one, wondering how come no one paid attention to you.  This is a busy patient-to-patient forum and not everybody knows the answers.  There is an "Ask the Doctor" section on this webpage, if you want to be assured of getting an answer.
