Burning in sole of foot

Every few months I get what feels like mild burning/a feeling of pressure as if someone is lightly pressing on my foot- in the arch right behind the ball of my foot, and only in the right foot. It's not painful really, but it's definitely noticeable. The only injury I've caused to myself is a SEVERE sprain two years ago that has permanentely weakened my ankle. What could this be?

Not really.  People feel Sciatica in different ways.  The root problem is usually in the lumbar region of the spine, which is where the hips are located.

It just seems weird that I'd only have symptoms in my foot if it was sciatica...

As strange as it sounds, it could be sciatica--even if you have no other symptoms of sciatica.  Chiropractic helps a lot with this.
